Who should attend?

The module will suit all users who need to link Excel data to a PowerPoint chart and incorporate the chart(s) in a Word document.

Pre-requisites

Attendees should have a good understanding of PowerPoint features and a familiarity with Excel and Word.

Objectives

You will learn how to: Build a PowerPoint chart using existing Excel data. Establish a link between the Excel data and the PowerPoint chart. Insert a chart generated in PowerPoint in a Word document.

Course Content

Chart based on Excel data

Create a PowerPoint chart based on data held in Excel using: 1) Copy and Paste 2) Import a sheet or named range

Link Excel data

Copy and Paste Link data from Excel. Amend data in Excel and view the change in the PowerPoint chart.

Place chart in a Word document

Switch between colour and black and white view. Copy a chart/entire slide to a Word document. Link a chart to a Word document. Understand Word object formatting options for positioning the chart and controlling text flow.

Insert a Hyperlink

Use an action button to open a Word document/Excel worksheet. Create a hyperlink that moves to another slide in the presentation.
