Who should attend?
The module will suit all users with little or no experience of a spreadsheet program who wish to learn how to use a spreadsheet application and to understand the implications of presenting and handling numerical information.
Pre-requisites
No previous experience of a spreadsheet program is required.
Objectives
You will learn how to: Produce and present text and data in a spreadsheet format. Understand spreadsheet concepts. Identify when to use a spreadsheet versus a Word table. Perform simple calculations with the spreadsheet data. Format and print a spreadsheet.
Course Content
Worksheet
Create and save a worksheet. Move around the worksheet window.
Formatting
Enter, amend and format text and numbers. Apply cell borders and shading. Clear cell formatting and/or contents. Alter row heights and column widths. Insert and delete rows and columns. Copy and replicate cell entries.
Formulae
Create simple calculations to add, subtract, multiply and divide data. Edit, copy and move formulae. Use the AutoSum function. Use the AutoFill tool to automatically fill a range of cells with data.
Freeze panes
Use the freeze panes feature to fix column headings and row labels in large worksheets.
Page format
Create custom page headers and footers. Define print titles to produce the same row/column headings at the top/left of each page.
Printing
Print part or all of a worksheet.
