Who should attend?

The module will suit all users who need to work with Excel functions to perform calculations and who need to generate summary sheets via linking.

Pre-requisites

Attendees should be familiar with the concepts of creating simple calculations. Familiarity with topics covered in module:

Objectives

You will learn how to: Use formulae to perform calculations. Link worksheets to produce consolidation/summary sheets. Emphasise different cells using conditional formatting.

Course Content

AutoSum function

Use the AutoSum function to total columns and rows of figures.

Insert Function

Explore the insert function feature in order to use functions such as MIN, MAX, AVERAGE, ROUND, NOW.

Named ranges

Define named ranges in a worksheet. Use range names in formulae.

Absolute addressing

Understand when to use relative or absolute cell references. Write formulae using fixed (absolute) cell references.

Worksheet tools

Assign names to individual sheets. Move, copy, delete sheets. Select multiple worksheets.

Linking worksheets and files

Write formulae to produce consolidation/summary sheets within a workbook and in a separate workbook (file).

Find and replace

ind and replace text or data in a worksheet.
