Pre-requisites

No previous knowledge of mail merge is required.

Objectives

You will learn how to: Produce periodic mailings i.e. letters to be sent to a group of individuals. Generate a merge data file using the Contacts folder in Outlook. Produce labels based on a merge data file.

Course Content

Data source file

Generate an Excel or Access data source file by exporting the information held in the Contacts folder in Outlook.

Mail merge letter

Create a mail merge letter and understand merge fields.

Catalog merge

Use mail merge to create a telephone list from the data source file.

Select data records

Produce a merge document based on data filtered from the data source file. Sort the merged document.

Labels

Create labels using a data source file.
