Who should attend?

The module will suit all users who need to draft document text or manipulate existing text. The Word Processing for Managers module is ideal for those who need to use the basic text and paragraph formatting tools in Word.

Pre-requisites

No previous experience of word processing is required.

Objectives

You will learn how to: Produce and present text that takes advantage of some of the basic word processing tools.

Course Content

Document naming conventions

Understand the document storage areas available i.e. local and network drives. Work with long document names and use codes when saving documents.

Email attachments

Open and review a document received via e-mail. Send an amended document as an attachment via e-mail.

Comments

Insert a document comment. Convert a document comment to document text. Delete a comment.

Format text

Enter, edit and delete text. Enhance text using standard formatting features. Remove formatting. Move & copy text.

Paragraph Formatting

Change the alignment, indentation & line spacing within paragraphs. Apply bullet points and numbers to text.

Document navigation

Use the Select Browse object and keyboard shortcuts for navigating a document. Find text within a document and replace with different text.

Printing

Print a document or selected pages.
